He's invaluable during those times when a little Odia is needed to put our interview subjects at ease and smooth things along.

She brings a different perspective to our outlook. As a Sociologist her interest lies in the people and how they are affected by the implementation of the program.

 While his good looks and charm were reason enough for us to beg him to be part of our team, he does also force us to ask important questions about the setup and operations of the vending zones. 

  

What's Going On?

In order to understand business and entrepreneurship it is as important to learn about small businesses and the way they operate as it is to know about large corporate groups.

To this end we, the students of the Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar are doing a project on the new and innovative concept of vending zones. This program was first implemented in Bhubaneswar and over a period of a few years has spread to most major cities in the country.

We aim to understand how this system works, how efficient it is, whether the implementation of the program has been beneficial to small business owners and what are the problems that these vending zones continue to face.
